GBP/BRL Rangebound as Brazil Prepares to Ban Crypto Cross-Border Payments
The British pound against the Brazilian real (GBP/BRL) has been trading steadily at R$6.9245, reflecting ongoing support from recent upward momentum.
According to Traders Union, this pair remains above its key moving averages on the hourly chart, with a modest gain observed today.
Brazil's central bank is set to introduce new regulations starting October 1, 2026, prohibiting the use of stablecoins and cryptocurrencies for cross-border payments.
This move will require electronic foreign-exchange providers and fintech firms to process settlements through conventional forex transactions or nonresident accounts.
As a result, institutional demand is shifting toward traditional forex pairs like GBP/BRL, making it likely to remain rangebound between R$6.8793 and R$6.9591 over the next 2-3 days.
