GBP/USD Rallies on UK Growth Upgrade, Gives Back Gains Before Close
The British Pound rallied on a UK growth upgrade and gave back more than half of its gains before closing, according to FXStreet.
The GDP was revised up to 0.5% from 0.4%, with exports rising 2.8%. However, household spending grew only 0.3%.
BofE Governor Bailey and Deputy Governor Ramsden have warned that persistently high energy prices would make it hard to leave rates where they are.
