Ghanaian Cedi Continues Appreciation Run

The Ghanaian Cedi has continued its appreciation against the US dollar on August 15, 2026. The average buying rate is GHS11.04, an eleven-pesewa appreciation compared to Friday's rates. At forex bureaus, the Cedi trades at GHS12.30 for dollar sales.

The Bank of Ghana interbank market shows a selling rate of GHS10.96. The British pound and Euro are also trading within certain ranges: GHS14.83 for buying and GHS16.00 for selling for the pound, and GHS12.65 for buying and GHS13.70 for selling for the Euro.

In the money transfer space, LemFi and Taptap Send offer competitive rates of GHS11.00 each for US or UK remittances to Ghana. Digital subscription payments via Visa and Mastercard use an exchange rate of GHS11.83 each.
