GiveOUT Day: Rainbow Orgs Unite for Aotearoa's National Giving Moment

Rainbow New Zealand Charitable Trust (RNZCT) has announced GiveOUT Day, a national fundraising campaign that brings together 28 Rainbow organisations across Aotearoa. From Whangārei to Dunedin, these groups aim to raise $150,000 for Rainbow communities through the shared goal of matching every dollar donated.

The event, running from October 8-12, will see participating organisations matched dollar-for-dollar while funds last. Over $65,000 has already been secured for this year's pool, with Jessie Lewthwaite, RNZCT Co-Chair, saying 'GiveOUT Day is unique because it brings our communities across Aotearoa together for one national moment of giving.'

GiveOUT Day was established in 2022 to increase the capacity of Aotearoa's Rainbow sector by helping organisations raise both funds and awareness for their work. This year, participating groups include health and wellbeing services, peer support, advocacy, sport, community events, youth services, heritage, and opportunities for connection.

According to Lewthwaite, 'When we invest in the people and organisations doing this work every day, we make more possible, for all of us.'
