Global Economists Hail India's Growth Trajectory and Reforms
Global economists have praised India's growth trajectory and reforms, citing its potential to become a major global economic force. Speaking at the 5th Kautilya Economic Conclave in New Delhi, Swedish economist Daniel Waldenström noted that India has made impressive progress through growth-oriented policies.
'India is on a good path in terms of increasing its economy at a fast pace,' Waldenström said. 'The focus on growth has been very positive and will help expand education, infrastructure, and overall living standards.'
Waldenström emphasized the importance of income inequality over wealth inequality, arguing that policymakers should prioritize taxing capital income instead of relying on wealth or inheritance taxes.
Former European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet hailed India's transformation as 'very impressive' and encouraged the country to continue its current trajectory. French economist Jean-Pierre Landau also praised India-France partnerships, describing India as a key player in addressing global challenges.
