Gold Treads Water Ahead of US GDP Release
Gold has continued to hold above its key $4,150 support zone as traders await the release of the US Final GDP figures. The metal has been trading around $4,171.77, down 0.23% on the session.
The upcoming GDP data is expected to influence expectations for interest rates, the US dollar, and Treasury yields. A stronger growth reading may pressure gold if it reinforces expectations for higher-for-longer interest rates.
Conversely, a weaker growth reading could provide support for gold by increasing concerns over economic momentum and reducing expectations for further Fed tightening.
