Greek Designer Vardopoulou Among Finalists in Euro Banknote Design Competition

Greek designer Mirsini Vardopoulou is in the running to create new euro banknotes, as part of a competition led by the European Central Bank (ECB).

The ECB has shortlisted ten design options for the next series of euro banknotes, and Vardopoulou's proposal, Design E, focuses on cultural achievements rather than famous figures.

Vardopoulou has been designing postage stamps for Hellenic Post for over 20 years and has created more than 250 stamps on various themes, including the Olympic Games and literature.
