Islamic Convention Urges Detachment from Canadian Society

An Islamic convention called LIT was held in Montreal's suburb of Laval on July 26. The conference aimed to 'unify Muslims,' but speakers urged attendees to detach themselves from Canadian society and its 'immoral' western law-based paradigm.

Navaid Aziz, a speaker at the event, discussed building a 'circular economy' where Muslims can support each other's businesses and avoid using fiat currency. He suggested that this would allow them to exert political influence by accumulating wealth.

Aziz also told the audience that they should amass wealth because there is a 'ceiling' for Muslim politicians, and eventually, they will have to compromise on their beliefs. He cited the example of the Jewish lobby in Canada, which he claimed can 'line the pockets of politicians.'
