Japan Government Unites Behind End of Reflation
Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama has stated that the government is united in its view that reflationary policy is over. This stance supports the efforts of the Bank of Japan to combat inflation as Tokyo seeks to counter yen weakness.
In an interview with Nikkei, Katayama emphasized the unity among policymakers regarding the end of reflation. The statement comes after the BOJ's summary of opinions raised questions about the central bank's policy stance.
