Kyrgyzstan Exchange Rates See Sudden Surge in Euro, Yuan

The Kyrgyzstan National Bank has reported significant changes in exchange rates for major currencies against the som, which is the country's local currency. On August 3, 2026, the euro saw a notable increase of over 1 percent in its value, surpassing the 100 som mark. The Chinese yuan also reached new highs for the year, with an official exchange rate of 12.9622 soms, representing a 0.15 percent increase.

The Russian ruble has started to rise again, recovering from a decline and returning above the 1.1 som threshold. The US dollar, however, remained stable, with no significant changes reported in its exchange rate against the som.

The official exchange rates for the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan were as follows: euro (100.773 soms, up 0.65 percent), Russian ruble (1.1004 soms, up 0.26 percent), Kazakhstani Tenge (0.1847 soms, up 0.22 percent), and Chinese yuan (12.9622 soms, up 0.15 percent).
