Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank (ECB), has reaffirmed her commitment to stepping down in 2027. In an interview with Ireland's RTE Radio on Friday, she maintained that she will leave her position by the end of that year, but declined to confirm whether she would remain until her term ends next October.

Lagarde stated, 'I'll leave in '27.' When asked if this meant leaving in October of that year, she replied, 'we'll see.' She emphasized that her departure will be handled professionally and with the utmost care.

Spain's Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo weighed in on Lagarde's exit, stating that it is time to start discussing the ECB's future after her departure. He acknowledged that Lagarde's decision is final and expressed support for her leadership during her tenure.
