Market Outlook: Key Events Ahead in Week of August 24-28
The upcoming week in financial markets will see several key economic events taking place. On Monday, there are no major releases scheduled for the FX market to focus on.
However, things pick up on Tuesday with Japan's BoJ releasing core CPI y/y data, while the U.S. publishes CB consumer confidence and new home sales data.
Australia's CPI data will be released on Wednesday, alongside the U.S.'s core PCE price index m/m, preliminary GDP q/q, and durable goods orders m/m.
The U.S. data releases continue on Thursday with unemployment claims, marking the start of the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium. Japan will release Tokyo core CPI y/y data that day as well.
Canada's GDP m/m will be published on Friday, and attention will then turn to Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's speech at Jackson Hole. The preliminary benchmark payroll revision for U.S. nonfarm payrolls is also set to be released.
