New Zealand Economy Stalls Amid Middle East Crisis
New Zealand's economy has grown at a slower pace in the second quarter due to the crisis in the Middle East. According to official data released on September 17, gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 0.2% compared to the prior quarter.
This is better than analysts' forecast of a 0.1% increase and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's prediction of no growth. Annual GDP increased by 2.6%, exceeding market expectations of a 2.2% rise.
