This is not an isolated incident; earlier this year, there were reports of counterfeit $50 notes circulating in the region, with some businesses expressing concerns about whether they would be reimbursed for accepting fake notes.

The Reserve Bank of Australia emphasizes that counterfeit notes have no value and will not be reimbursed. Businesses are advised to handle suspected counterfeits carefully, record relevant information, and report them to police.
