Nvidia Faces Growing Pains as Nvidia Results Loom
Nvidia's upcoming quarterly results will be under scrutiny as investors seek evidence of the company's ability to protect its profitability from inflationary pressures. The shares have been stagnant for three months, with markets concerned about competitive pressures and margin pressure concerns due to higher input costs.
Analysts at AJ Bell noted that Nvidia's growth has slowed down significantly since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022. They stated that recent months could be characterized as a 'difficult adolescence' for the company, with investors fretting about the sustainability of current AI-related spending levels.
The Federal Reserve chair, Kevin Warsh, will also be delivering his highly-anticipated debut speech at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium in Wyoming. TD Securities said that Warsh's remarks are likely to be 'evolutionary, not revolutionary', and that he may focus on creating distance between his views on balance sheet policy and the idea of it acting as a substitute for interest rate tools.
