Quant QNT Token Sees Boost as Clearing House and UK Banks Adopt Software
Quant's QNT token saw a significant jump in price on September 24 after two major banking announcements. The Clearing House selected Quant to provide interoperability, orchestration, and transaction-management for its On-Chain Money Initiative, which aims to clear and settle tokenized deposit transactions.
The network is expected to be available to participating institutions in the first half of 2027. This milestone marks a crucial step towards institutional adoption of Quant's software.
On the same day, UK Finance reported that seven major UK banks had completed live customer transactions using tokenized sterling deposits on the Great British Tokenized Deposit (GBTD) platform built by Quant. The transactions included remortgage completions and a consumer marketplace purchase.
While the direct link between network adoption and token demand remains unclear, Quant's documented role is paying for Overledger access and fees. The macro case for the sector is larger, with Citi Institute estimating that tokenized bank deposits could support $100 trillion to $140 trillion in annual flows by 2030.
