RBA Hikes Interest Rates Amid Inflation Fears as Ariana Resources Sees Profits Surge
Ariana Resources PLC reported significant gains in its first-half profits, rising to £6.25 million from just £151,000 a year earlier.
The increase included a £4.51 million gain on disposals and £3.26 million of investment revaluation gains.
The company ended June with £17.3 million in cash after monetising part of its Turkish mining interests to fund the development of its flagship Dokwe gold project in Zimbabwe.
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) raised interest rates by 25 basis points, taking borrowing costs to their highest level in 15 years.
This decision marked the RBA's fourth 0.25 percentage point increase of 2026 and came after a warning that some inflation risks were materialising.
