RBA Hikes Interest Rates to 4.60% as Inflation Concerns Rise
Standard Chartered's Nicholas Chia has revised his forecast for the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) to raise the cash rate to 4.60% at its September 29 meeting, up from a previous call for a hold.
This decision is based on recent RBA messaging highlighting upside inflation risks and resilient economic momentum.
The bank also delays its projected start of RBA rate cuts to Q3-2027 from Q1-2027, citing the central bank's cautious view of incoming data.
