Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) Economics views August's housing slowdown as a pause rather than a turning point, despite home resales falling 0.7% month-over-month and trade tensions affecting buyer confidence.

RBC expects stabilization to take hold over the second half of 2026 and into 2027, with the recovery varying by region.
