Ringgit Ticks Up Amid Global Uncertainty, Mixed Currency Trading
The Malaysian ringgit experienced a slight increase against the US dollar on Thursday, despite trading within a narrow range due to heightened global uncertainties.
Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd chief economist Dr Mohd Afzanizam Abdul Rashid noted that higher global bond yields were a major factor affecting market sentiment this week.
The ringgit traded mixed against other currencies, rising against the euro but depreciating versus the British pound and Japanese yen.
