US Dollar Rises to Near 17-Month Highs
The US Dollar index has marked its third consecutive weekly gain, reaching near 17-month highs. With a value of 102.08, it's set to rise by 1 percent for the week, the longest winning streak since May 2025. The dollar is gaining strength against six major currencies.
The euro has dropped to $1.1237, its lowest level since May 2025. Sterling and the Australian dollar are hovering around their three-month lows at $1.3187 and $0.6918 respectively. The New Zealand dollar has slipped to $0.5591, hitting a low not seen since November 2025.
The yen remains steady at 158 per US dollar, despite annual core inflation in Tokyo accelerating in September at the fastest pace in 10 months.
