Romania Tops EU Inflation List with 6.2% Rate in August
Romania has recorded the highest inflation rate in the European Union (EU) at 6.2% in August, according to a recent analysis by BestBrokers.
The study noted that this figure is lower than the 8.2% inflation rate in July and may be partly attributed to recent austerity measures implemented by the Romanian government to tackle the budget deficit and inflation.
BestBrokers compared annual inflation rates in August among 93 countries, including Argentina and Turkey which have the highest annual inflation at 33.5% and 31.51%, respectively.
In Europe, Ukraine has the highest inflation rate at 8.1%, followed by Kosovo (7.3%), Republic of Moldova (7.0%), Russia (6.3%), Romania (6.2%), and Lithuania (6.1%).
