Swiss Inflation Remains Steady at 1% in September
Switzerland's inflation rate remained steady in September at 1%, according to data released by the Federal Statistical Office. This means that consumer prices were unchanged from August, and the consumer price index held at 101.5 points based on December 2025 = 100.
The increase in fuel costs was offset by lower prices for international package holidays and accommodation. Heating oil prices rose 8.2% from August, while diesel increased 4.4% and gasoline increased 3.3%. However, prices for international package holidays fell 3.9%, and hotels became 1.2% cheaper.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile fresh and seasonal products as well as energy and fuel, was unchanged on the month but rose 0.5% from a year earlier. Domestic prices fell 0.2% from August, while imported goods and services rose 0.5% on the month and 2.1% from a year earlier.
