Trump Criticizes Fed Rate Hike Amid Inflation Concerns

President Donald Trump addressed the Federal Reserve's decision to raise interest rates for the first time in three years, aiming to combat rising inflation. Speaking at Joint Base Andrews, Trump said he had spoken with Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh before the rate hike. However, he claimed that his conversation did not influence the decision.

'I talked to Kevin,' Trump said. 'And I said you might as well vote with the board because it's not going to matter. The board is very hostile.'

The Federal Reserve raised interest rates by 0.25% in an effort to address inflation, which Warsh described as 'too high and has been for too long.' He emphasized the central bank's independence and declined to disclose details of his conversation with Trump.
