Trump's Economic Boom Fails to Impress Amid Strong Jobs Report

President Donald Trump has been touting an economic boom for nearly two years, but even a strong jobs report failed to lift his spirits. In fact, he lashed out at the Federal Reserve and financial markets, claiming that success does not cause inflation, but 'stupidity' does.

The August job numbers showed a gain of 162,000 jobs, which some economists saw as a positive sign. However, Trump's response was to blame the Fed for keeping interest rates high, which he believes is stifling economic growth.

Trump's approval ratings on the economy are at an all-time low, with just 32% of Americans approving of his handling of the issue. His party's economic approval rating in 2018 was a much higher 50%, and experts warn that his policies may be exacerbating the problem rather than solving it.

Despite his claims, Trump's policies have enabled inflation and high interest rates. The national debt has surpassed $40 trillion, and rates on the 10-year U.S. Treasury note rose to 4.79% in August.
