US Dollar Weakens Against Major Currencies
The US dollar weakened in late trading on Friday, losing ground against several major currencies. The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, slipped by 0.17 percent to 101.933 at 15:00 (1900 GMT).
Against individual currencies, the euro rose to $1.1252 from $1.1235 in the previous session, while the British pound advanced to $1.3239 from $1.3190.
The dollar also declined against the Japanese yen, buying 157.80 yen compared to 158.11 yen previously. It fell to 0.8287 Swiss francs from 0.8317 francs and added to 1.4259 Canadian dollars from 1.4236 dollars.
