Vietnam Seeks Quality Investment from Japanese Firms
High-ranking Vietnamese officials have invited Japan's JBIC and Japanese businesses to invest in strategic sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and green transition. The invitation came during a meeting between Politburo member and head of the Commission for Policy and Strategy Nguyen Thanh Nghi and Maeda Tadashi, Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of JBIC.
Nghi emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in addressing long-term development challenges. He proposed that Japan maintain a strategic dialogue as a regular mechanism for discussions on Vietnam's development issues, including energy security and mobilization of international investment capital.
Maeda praised Vietnam's growth targets and expressed his commitment to enhancing cooperation between Vietnam and Japan through the establishment of a strategic dialogue framework between JBIC and the Commission. He highlighted the need for stronger exchanges on major shifts in the global economy and their impacts on the development strategies of the two countries.
