Wall Street Eyes Further Gains After Nasdaq Hits Record High
Wall Street is poised to continue its upward momentum on Tuesday, following a strong performance on Monday that saw the Nasdaq Composite reach a new record high. The S&P 500 gained 0.5%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.3%, and the Nasdaq Composite increased by 0.7%. The Nasdaq’s record high came as the S&P 500 narrowly missed its own all-time peak.
Investors are also keeping an eye on upcoming remarks from several Federal Reserve officials, including John Williams, Michelle Bowman, and Jeffrey Schmid. These comments could provide further insights into the central bank’s future policy direction.
In the bond market, the 2-year Treasury yield climbed slightly by 0.2 basis points to 4.83%, while the 10-year Treasury yield dropped 2.3 basis points to 5.29%. The 30-year Treasury yield fell 2.1 basis points to 5.64%. These movements reflect ongoing adjustments in investor expectations regarding interest rates and economic conditions.
