The scammer met the woman on Xiaohongshu and convinced her to move their conversation to Teams, where he presented himself as a company researcher involved in Microsoft research.

The scammer's tactics are typical of romance scams: building trust before turning the conversation to money. He provided credentials for an account she could use, but this was likely staged.
