$3.4 Billion AI Warning: Insiders Flee Nvidia, Palantir, Alphabet, Meta
The four biggest AI trailblazers on Wall Street, Nvidia, Palantir, Alphabet, and Meta, have been shaking up investors with a $3.4 billion warning sign.
The companies' insiders have sold a staggering amount of their own stock over the past year, with a total value of more than $3.4 billion. This includes $1.8 billion in insider selling at Nvidia, $1 billion at Palantir, and $243 million at Alphabet.
This could be a cause for concern, as insiders typically receive most of their compensation in stock or options. However, the fact that they haven't been buying back shares suggests they don't think their companies' stocks will appreciate in value.
The price-to-sales ratios of Nvidia and Palantir are also above historic averages, which could indicate a potential bubble-bursting event similar to those seen with previous technologies since the mid-1990s. AI is still an emerging technology, and it may take years for businesses to optimize AI solutions.
