Accenture Shares Soar on Strong Earnings and Bullish 2027 Outlook
Accenture's shares jumped 20% in morning trading on Thursday after the consulting and technology-services company released fiscal fourth-quarter results that exceeded market expectations. The company posted quarterly revenue of $18.7 billion, a 6% year-over-year increase, while GAAP diluted earnings rose 46% to $3.29 per share.
New bookings reached $22.2 billion, up 4% in U.S. dollars, with consulting revenue at $9.28 billion. For fiscal 2027, Accenture expects revenue growth of 3% to 6% in local currency and projects GAAP diluted earnings of $14.39 to $14.81 per share.
The upbeat forecast also lifted several peers, including Cognizant Technology Solutions, which climbed 10%, Infosys, which gained 8%, and IBM, which rose 5%. Accenture's strong performance was likely driven by its continued growth in corporate IT spending and AI demand.
