Ackman Dumps 25% of Amazon Stake as He Bets Big on AI Leaders
Billionaire investor Bill Ackman made significant changes to his portfolio in the second quarter. He sold 25% of his stake in Amazon, but also added to his positions in Microsoft and Meta Platforms.
Ackman has a concentrated portfolio with fewer than 15 stocks, so investors take notice when he makes moves. He finished selling off his remaining small Alphabet stake, while slashing his position in Amazon by 25%.
Microsoft is Ackman's third-largest holding, and he upped his position by nearly 10%. The company has continued strong operational performance despite the stock doing little over the past year. Microsoft is becoming an AI winner, with its software deeply embedded in enterprises and increasing adoption of its AI copilots.
