Aeroplan Credit Card Perks Overhaul: Discounts and Fees Shift

Aeroplan credit card holders are in for some welcome changes starting January 12, 2027. All Aeroplan cardholders will receive a permanent 15% discount on redemptions for Air Canada flights, currently available as a temporary promotion. Additionally, they'll get free fourth nights when booking three consecutive nights at hotels using points.

The core Aeroplan cards are also getting some perks. Core cardholders will receive a $25 credit twice a year, valid for six months each time. However, the annual fees on these cards will increase by up to $30. Premium cardholders, including those with the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite and CIBC Aeroplan credit cards, will get Maple Leaf Lounge access worldwide and priority security lanes at select airports.

The American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card is getting even more perks. Cardholders will receive six Priority Pass lounge passes per year, eight complimentary visits to Amex Aspire lounges in Canada, a $200 annual dining credit at Air Canada's list of Canada's Best New Restaurants, and a 10% points bonus when spending over $125,000 annually.
