Aeroregional Adds Ex-US Marshals Boeing 737-400 to Fleet

Aeroregional is preparing to add another Boeing 737-400 to its fleet, and this one has an interesting past. The aircraft, N279AD, was previously used by the U.S. Marshals Service for transporting federal prisoners.

The 737-4Q8 took off from Oklahoma City on September 1 and landed at Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito six hours later, after being registered under the name of CSDS Asset Management LLC, based in Marana, Arizona.

N279AD is a 1992 model with over 34 years of service, including a stint with several commercial airlines. It was used by One Airlines in Chile before joining the U.S. government fleet in 2015.

Aeroregional's incorporation of this aircraft reinforces its Boeing 737 Classic fleet and provides more room to sustain frequencies and replace aircraft in maintenance, a sensitive point for an aging fleet.
