AI-Fueled Cybersecurity Hiring Surges 9.5% in G7 Economies

The demand for cybersecurity professionals is on the rise, driven by the increasing use of artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure. According to Cisco's AI Workforce Consortium, cybersecurity hiring across G7 economies increased 9.5 percent year over year during October 2025-March 2026.

The most in-demand cybersecurity jobs are concentrated around security engineering, AI security, cloud security, application security, identity and access management (IAM), security operations, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).

Security engineers work across cloud infrastructure, identity, endpoint security, application environments, automation, and detection systems. The role requires a combination of traditional cybersecurity knowledge and AI skills.
