AI Shifts Paradigm for US Software Giants
Contrary to predictions that AI would replace existing software companies, the opposite is happening. The so-called 'paradox of AI' has appeared on Wall Street and Yeouido stock markets. Initially, in early 2026, US software companies saw their stock prices plummet due to concerns that AI would automate jobs, replacing human labor.
However, as AI evolved from simple task automation to more complex tasks handled by 'agents,' or AI secretaries, the situation changed. To introduce these agents inside a company, they need to connect with existing work systems, which are tightly held by US software companies like Microsoft (MSFT), ServiceNow (NOW), Salesforce (CRM), and CrowdStrike (CRWD).
These companies' shares have surged more than 20% over the past month, attracting investors' attention. For instance, Salesforce's AI agent platform, Agentforce, has seen its annual recurring revenue exceed $1.5 billion, growing 240% during this period.
