AI Tool Helps Serbian Students Build Mechanical Finger in Class

A mathematics and programming teacher in Serbia's Bačka Palanka, Sanja Rajić, was building a mechanical finger with her students. They needed an M3 screw, but none were available at local hardware stores.

The students turned to the Petlja AI Assistant, developed by the Serbian education nonprofit Petlja Foundation on Microsoft Azure using Azure OpenAI Service. The tool helped them learn what 'M3' meant and how to configure their 3D printer.

After several attempts, they successfully printed a screw that fit at 60 percent accuracy, allowing the mechanical finger to work.

Rajić credits the AI Assistant with saving her time on lesson preparation. With its help, she can focus more on teaching and interacting with her students.
