Air Force Veteran and Software Engineer Frederick Heinemann III Passes Away at 89

A 89-year-old software engineer and veteran of the United States Air Force has passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona. Frederick Charles Heinemann III died on August 6, 2026, after serving his country for many years.

Heinmann was born on December 12, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, to Frederick and Lydia Heinemann. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1958 and went on to serve in the Air Force as a helicopter rescue pilot, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

After his military service, Heinmann built a successful career at Procter & Gamble as a software engineer. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Virginia Kay Heinemann, and their three children: Melody Ann Heinemann Dosch, Michelle Victoria (Kevin) Ryan, and Frederick Charles Heinemann IV.

A funeral service will be held on September 4, 2026, at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary in Scottsdale, Arizona. An Air Force color guard ceremony and burial will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
