Air New Zealand is enhancing its travel experience with new features and rewards for American Express Platinum Card Members. These members can book select flights with Platinum Member Airfares™, earning 5X Membership Rewards® points on up to $500,000 per calendar year on flights purchased directly from airlines or through American Express Travel®.
This fall, Air New Zealand introduces its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on nonstop flights between New York (JFK) and Auckland (AKL). The airline's latest cabin experience includes Business Premier Luxe™, which offers extra space, privacy, and a lie-flat bed with unrestricted legroom. The redesigned Premium Economy section features seats with a 41-inch pitch and added privacy. Additionally, the Economy Skynest™, launching in late December 2026, provides lie-flat rest for Economy and Premium Economy travelers with six individual sleep pods.
For families, the Economy Skycouch™ transforms a row of Economy seats into a flexible, lie-flat space. These new cabin experiences are also appearing across Air New Zealand’s long-haul fleet and North American network, including routes from Los Angeles, Houston, Honolulu, San Francisco, and Vancouver.
Upon landing in Auckland, travelers can explore the city's attractions, such as the Park Hyatt Auckland hotel and a ferry ride to Waiheke Island for wine tasting. Further north, the Bay of Islands offers stays at Rosewood Kauri Cliffs, with private beaches and golf experiences, providing a serene escape after the journey.
