Airbus and Boeing Surpass 2025 Delivery Totals Amid Challenges
Both Airbus and Boeing have seen an improvement in their delivery performance this year compared to last. According to recent data, Airbus has delivered 475 aircraft so far in 2026, surpassing its total of 434 at the same point in 2025. Meanwhile, Boeing has delivered 418 aircraft in 2026, exceeding its 385 deliveries from last year.
The two aviation giants have faced challenges this year, including quality concerns for Boeing following the Alaska Airlines door plug incident in 2024 and engine shortages affecting Airbus. However, despite these issues, both companies have managed to outperform their delivery numbers from 2025.
A notable development was the delivery of an Airbus A330neo to Starlux Airlines on August 10, 2026. This marked a significant milestone after Airbus staff inspected every A330neo due to concerns about the aircraft's horizontal tail plane in June and July. The inspection found a tool in the structure during a pre-delivery check.
