Airbus Deal Crucial for Bangladesh-Europe Relations, Says French Ambassador

The French Ambassador to Bangladesh, Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet, emphasized that advancing relations between Europe and Bangladesh are crucially linked to the Airbus issue. He stated that decisions made in Dhaka regarding Airbus will significantly impact long-term good relations with Europe.

Bangladesh's nearly 50% of ready-made garments exports go to Europe, making this relationship a major interest for the country. The French ambassador noted that neither France nor Europe is concerned about Bangladesh's agreement with Boeing and does not believe in imposing relationships.

Europe aims to be a genuinely trustworthy partner on Bangladesh's path to development, and Airbus is key to achieving this goal. Biman Bangladesh Airlines had expressed interest in purchasing Airbus several years ago after technical evaluation and discussions based on significance.
