Despite being a generally popular spot, with 75% of reviewers recommending it, a recent review from reader JAB paints a different picture. Their party had originally made reservations at Topolino's but switched to Ale & Compass due to kitchen issues.

JAB's experience started on a high note, as they enjoyed the Parker House Rolls, giving them a perfect 10/10 score. However, dinner was a letdown, with JAB describing their pappardelle pasta with chicken as 'super hammered' and clumpy, receiving only a 3/10 rating.

The reviewer's husband also had issues with his meal, stating that the flat iron steak was tender but dry, and that the potatoes were one of the few redeeming qualities. JAB's drink order, a Spicy Pomegranate Margarita, was deemed too spicy and left them with instant heartburn.
