Alexa for Shopping Sees Explosive Growth as Amazon's Earnings Soar
Amazon's Alexa for Shopping has seen significant growth in the second quarter of 2026. According to CEO Andy Jassy, the number of active users nearly doubled year over year, with interactions up five times from the same period last year.
The company also reported that over 350 million shoppers have used Alexa for Shopping over the past 12 months. U.S. customers who use the AI assistant spend 40% more per order on average compared to those who don't use it.
Additionally, Jassy noted that shoppers who try Alexa+ are more likely to join Amazon Prime, with a nearly 25% higher rate of sign-up. The success of Alexa for Shopping is seen as a key driver of momentum for the business, with Jassy stating that 'everywhere Alexa goes, it drives momentum for the business.'
