Nike is gearing up for the FIFA World Cup 2026 by integrating its products into Google's Gemini platform, allowing consumers to find and buy Nike products directly through AI Mode in Search. This move comes ahead of the global marketing moment, with shares of NKE stock gaining nearly 0.3% pre-market on Wednesday.

The sportswear company is leveraging Alphabet's Universal Commerce Protocol-powered multi-item checkout, enabling shoppers to move from product discovery to checkout directly without switching between screens. This feature will be available in early June, just ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, which begins on June 11.

Nike Direct VP Shannon Glass stated that there's no better time than the world's biggest global football moment for innovation that meets athletes when they're inspired and sport is at its peak. The integration with Google Gemini marks a significant step in Nike's efforts to reignite growth after a difficult year for the stock, which has dropped by around 30% since the start of the year.
