Algorhythm Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: RIME) has appointed Greg Smith, a seasoned IBM executive, as its newest independent director. Smith, who spent 30 years at IBM, brings extensive experience in managing large-scale operations, including overseeing multi-country organizations with a $2 billion annual budget. His expertise spans business process management, project management, and client relationship development, qualities that Algorhythm's CEO Andrew Thompson believes will strengthen the company's focus on accountability and results-driven culture.
Thompson highlighted Smith's deep understanding of the technology ecosystem and the AI data center boom, which will be crucial as Algorhythm explores growth opportunities in supplying renewable power to data center infrastructure. Smith's recognition, including a Global Supply Chain Leadership Award from IBM, underscores his leadership capabilities and strategic insights.
Algorhythm Holdings operates through two primary assets: Azure Holdings, a developer of renewable biomass power generation infrastructure, and SemiCab Holdings, an AI-enabled logistics software provider. Azure has already secured equity participation estimated at over $220 million in multiple power plants under construction in the U.S., while SemiCab has been optimizing supply-chain solutions for major retailers and transportation providers since 2020.
The company emphasized that Smith's appointment is part of its strategy to leverage experienced leadership to drive future growth and innovation across its portfolio.
