Alphabet Unveils Googlebook Laptops, Priced from $899 to $1,299
Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL; NASDAQ:GOOG) has launched five Googlebook laptops priced from $899 to $1,299, expanding its Gemini and Android presence in the premium personal computer market.
The move partners with established manufacturers like Acer Incorporated (TWSE:2353), Dell Technologies Inc. (NYSE:DELL), HP Inc. (NYSE:HPQ), Lenovo Group Limited (HKG:0992), and ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (TWSE:2357) to distribute the laptops.
Each buyer gets 12 months of Google AI Pro and 5 TB of cloud storage, with Alphabet not disclosing revenue-sharing terms or expected unit economics.
The premium positioning creates a counterargument, as prices overlap mainstream Windows laptops and exceed many Chromebooks. Android users must value Gemini integration enough to switch.
