Google's AI Mode Fails to Fix Laptop Display Issues
A Reddit user recently turned to Google's AI Mode for help troubleshooting their flickering laptop display. The user, who owns an ASUS Vivobook, had been experiencing erratic display issues, including two instances of the same image and a black halo effect.
Instead of diagnosing the problem themselves or seeking professional help, they decided to run Google's AI Mode, hoping for a helpful solution. However, the AI suggested uninstalling the laptop driver as a remedy, which ended up exacerbating the issue by making the text blurry.
The user likely uninstalled the display driver from Device Manager, but this only made things worse. Experts agree that in cases like this, the problem often lies with hardware rather than software.
Wccftech analyst Omar Sohail cautions against relying on LLMs for diagnosing hardware or software problems, as they can often provide unhelpful suggestions that worsen the issue.
