Amazon Ads Donates Framework to Boost Programmatic Ad Efficiency
Amazon Ads has made a significant donation to IAB Tech Lab, a technical standards group for the advertising industry. The company has donated its 'Dynamic Traffic Engine' (DTE) framework, designed to improve bidstream communication between demand-side platforms and supply-side platforms in programmatic ad systems.
The DTE helps buyers and sellers dynamically control bid requests and traffic flow by sending low or high-demand signals to Supply-Side Platforms (SSPs). This aims to reduce ad waste and increase efficiency. The technology will support a standard as the industry moves toward automation and interoperable bidstreams.
PubMatic has already integrated with the DTE globally, resulting in up to a 10% increase in eCPM for their clients. According to PubMatic's co-founder and CEO Rajeev Goel, 'programmatic working as it should' involves DSPs investing in technology like DTE to route more intelligently toward high-value supply.
The IAB Tech Lab will operationalize this framework within the Agentic Advertising Management Protocols framework. This will leverage machine-readable formats such as Protocol Buffers.
