Amazon Ads Expands into ChatGPT as OpenAI Aims for $100 Billion Ad Revenue
Amazon Ads has extended its supply-chasing streak by partnering with ChatGPT to offer advertisers a new ad platform. This deal marks Amazon's latest move to secure premium ad inventory, which includes partnerships with Netflix, Roku, Spotify, and Disney.
The pilot program allows select U.S. advertisers to buy ads inside the ChatGPT app, with Delta Vacations being one of the first partners. Chris Conetta, director of omnichannel supply at Amazon DSP, said that conversational ads represent a growing opportunity for brands to reach new audiences.
This move is seen as reinforcing Amazon's pitch that buying ad inventory through its platform costs less and targets better than buying it elsewhere. Amazon Ads has undercut rivals on fees, with its DSP often landing near zero on programmatic guaranteed deals.
