Amazon and Microsoft Fund German Water Replenishment Project

Amazon and Microsoft have teamed up to fund a water replenishment project in Hesse, Germany. The project, led by NABU (Naturschutzbund Deutschland), aims to restore natural wetland conditions across 40 hectares of land in the Vogelsberg region.

The Vogelsberg is a critical water sourcing area that supplies a significant portion of Frankfurt's drinking water. According to NABU, the project is expected to return more than 750 million litres of water annually to the local groundwater supply once completed.

Amazon has contributed over €2.9 million to the project, while Microsoft has also provided funding. The two tech giants have previously collaborated on environmental projects in Germany.
